As pieces of an ideal mosaic, the Rimadesio data for 2020 make up an image with clearly positive features. The slight decline of 4% of the orders, strictly bound to the global pandemic crisis and the 6-week production shutdown, needs to be related to other fundamental data. The prompt reaction to the crisis is confirmed by the data for January 2021: the order of more than 5.2 million euros is the second best result ever in the same period of the year.

International distribution rises to 64% and the degree of professionalism in general improves, thanks to an intense program of remote training courses and the opening of new monobrand stores. Significant production investments, reaching a total of 6.6 million euros, linked to the Industry 4.0 program and aimed at improving quality and efficiency. The workforce grew by 11%, with a total of 25 new hires and an average age of 36. Important initiatives in the welfare field, aimed at safety and family support, sustained by new projects and incentives in favor of the environment.

INVESTMENTS 4.0
In the last three years Rimadesio has made investments of over 6.6 million euros in highly computerised machinery capable of implementing the automation of the production cycle. Efficiency principles, in line with Industry 4.0, have also been applied to the Rimadesio production chain, which is increasingly interconnected to the company’s information systems, thanks to a new ICT infrastructure that allows real-time detection of production progress and warehouse inventory. During 2020, the process involved more than 30% of suppliers, with the aim of exceeding 50% in 2021.

MONOBRAND
The total number of Rimadesio monobrand stores has reached 55 (of which 14 in Italy and 41 abroad). In January 2020, the company opened its new directly owned flagship store in the heart of London, located at 83-85 Wigmore Street. In 2020, sales points were opened in New Delhi (India), Oxford (UK), Bogotá (Colombia), Nicosia (Cyprus), Odessa (Ukraine), Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) and Lucerne (Switzerland). New openings are planned in 2021 in the USA, Spain, India, China and Taiwan.

CORPORATE WELFARE
Aware of the importance of ensuring a good balance between professional environment and private life, Rimadesio confirms also for 2021 the implementation of the welfare plan in favour of all employees hired on permanent, fixed-term and apprenticeship basis. This is an annual bonus that can be used for benefits for educational, recreational, subsidiary and welfare purposes. The benefit, calculated according to the salary level, can be extended to the family circle. With the establishment of the new welfare policy, Rimadesio aims to improve the well-being of employees and their families, increasing their spending power.

MOBILITÀ GREEN
Also for 2021, the company has decided to give a monthly bonus to each employee who travels to work by electric car, on foot, by bicycle or e-bike. The aim is to encourage all levels of the company to adopt green habits, aimed at reducing urban traffic and polluting emissions through a mobility bonus. Employees can also recharge their electric/hybrid cars free of charge by connecting to the charging stations installed in the company car park. The charging stations are powered by solar energy produced by the photovoltaic installation.
