Talking About 2023. Back to Modernity: future
NEW VISIONS, THE MODERNITY OF TOMORROW.
Carlo Ratti discuss with Joann Gonchar
The third talk focuses on the future.
Carlo Ratti and Joann Gonchar discuss how the future of humanity is closely linked to the future of cities. Professor at MIT in Boston and at the Polytechnic of Milan, founder of the CRA-Carlo Ratti Associati studio, and appointed curator of the next Venice Architecture Biennale in 2025, Carlo Ratti works on the relationship between the cities, sustainability and technology, trying to combine the forces of our natural environment with those of the world built by man. For Ratti, rethinking the city means rethinking the way we live and also our environmental impact.
In this conversation with journalist Joann Gonchar, Carlo Ratti delves into the underlying themes of his research. From the influence of data in our daily lives to the future of mobility; from the need to rethink the role of offices in a “Playground City” to design that needs to be as careful as possible to mitigate and react to the effects of climate change. All with attention to people, who after the years of the pandemic need spaces in which to meet and interact even more.
