TERRAE, A finishing born from the nature

The material is the starting point. Terrae is born from research that focuses on the origin of materials and their expressive potential, transforming them into surfaces that dialogue with the designs. A vision that draws on the very substance of the elements.
The Terrae finishings are born from original compositions developed by architect Giuseppe Bavuso for Rimadesio, obtained by pulverising recovered natural materials. Marble, stone, minerals, pigments, and ceramic fragments are selected, ground, and combined in controlled blends, forming layered surfaces that express variations in tone and an ever-perceptible material richness.

The solid white of Carrara marble, the warm tones of Botticino, the nuances of yellow and burnt red Cocciopesto, the mineral depth of Grigio Carnico, the primordial strength of lava stone and the intense notes of brown oxides are mixed in distinct formulations, which correspond to the different Terrae finishings. From each combination, natural colours are born, obtained directly from the materials transformed into powder.

The process, which involves several steps, gives the surface a tactile and visual oscillation. Terrae has established itself as an essential part of the Rimadesio language, balancing strict design with artisanal sensitivity, restoring natural elements to their leading role in the narrative of contemporary life.
