2022 Rimadesio Lombardia Cup, Francesco Malberti Memorial.
Olimpia Milano, series A champion of Italy, and Pallacanestro Varese are among the stars of the Rimadesio Lombardia Cup. The two-day major basketball event is being organised in memory of Francesco Malberti, honorary president of Pallacanestro Aurora Desio. Rimadesio is the official sponsor of the event, scheduled for 14 and 15 September.
This year the tournament also opens to the series A1 and A2 women’s teams, with the semifinal between Sanga’s Tigers Milano and PFBroni 93. The winner will play against Geas Sesto in order to win the City of Desio Trophy.
Also for the 2022–2023 season Rimadesio is confirmed as the main sponsor of Aurora Desio series B, as well as the Under 19s and Under 17s Eccellenza. Leading the first Desio team will be Edoardo Gallazzi, who will play the role of head coach for the first time after stepping down as captain. The partnership began twenty-eight years ago between Rimadesio and Aurora, and has seen Italian basketball take various historic victories.
